Services
Respiratory services are responsible for providing a broad range of high quality cardio-respiratory care to meet inpatient and outpatient needs, especially in critical care areas. Some of the services provided include: physiological monitoring for sleep apnea screening; ventilator and airway management, membership in trauma and cardiac arrest teams, medical gas administration, home care assessment and discharge planning, patient assessment and consultation, pulmonary diagnostic and asthma education.
Respiratory Therapy at St. Paul's Hospital
St. Paul's Hospital is an acute care, academic and research hospital located in beautiful downtown Vancouver. With over 500 acute care beds in use and home to a variety of world-class medical and surgical programs, the hospital serves both the local community and patients from across the province. It is one of the clinical internship sites for respiratory therapy students from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, BC. Advanced clinical internships are also available for students enrolled in the Anesthesia Assistant program through TRU.

Mount Saint Joseph (MSJ) Hospital is a community hospital that has a multicultural approach to service delivery and clinical programs. MSJ boasts a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit and newly renovated Ambulatory Care Unit. Respiratory therapists are an integral part of the care team.
