Our specialized care team
Learn about the team at St. Paul’s Pregnancy, Birthing and Newborn Centre.
At St. Paul’s Pregnancy, Birthing and Newborn Centre, we have two lactation consultants on our team; a physician and a registered nurse. Each has advanced knowledge, training and expertise to support you to feed your infant, should you choose to breast/chest feed. All of our nursing team has taken additional infant feeding education to support you and your family after birth.
Our nursing team consists of registered nurses who have taken advanced training to support you and your family during the birth of your baby. Our nursing team is trained to provide labour support, assess the status of your labour, support pain management and administration of pain relief medications as directed by a physician and/or midwife. In addition, our nursing team has advanced training in monitoring your infant’s heart rate and is prepared fully to support infant resuscitation in the event of an emergency.
