St. John Hospice

Limited parking is available in the St. John Hospice lot. Paid parking is available in the UBC parking lot west of the building. Please don’t park on the street, as UBC parking patrol may tow your car.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted on hospice property.

Overnight stays

Overnight visits, particularly at the end of life, are possible and each room has a pull-out bed to accommodate this. Family members are not permitted to live in the facility.

Pets

Well-behaved pets are also welcome to visit. If there are difficulties managing a pet in the hospice environment, staff will discuss solutions.

Bringing food

Unique, special and favourite foods may be prepared and brought in. There are no cooking facilities, so preparation must be done off-site.

Bereavement & grief support

When someone important to you is at the end of life and dies, your own life changes forever and you begin to grieve. Many will say that the grieving starts from the first moment you learn that your loved one is seriously ill. However we label it, this can be a time of uncertainty.
