If you've seen the tinnitus audiologist for counseling and need more help, you might qualify for a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) course. CBT is a type of therapy that can help with many physical and mental health issues.
CBT can reduce the impact of tinnitus on your quality of life by helping you manage your stress and anxiety. It can help you develop more neutral thinking around tinnitus. This can make tinnitus less noticeable and less bothersome. Research has shown CBT to be effective in reducing tinnitus distress.
The CBT course is taught in person for eight weeks by a psychiatrist and audiologist. There is no fee for the cognitive behavioural therapy course. Space is limited to eight participants per group.
