Tinnitus Clinic

Preparing for your visit

How do I book an appointment?

You need a doctor’s referral to attend the Tinnitus Clinic. Please ask your Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor to fax the following documents to our clinic:

  • A referral note that includes your name, date of birth, contact information and BC Services Card number (your personal health number or PHN)
  • An ENT consult note about hearing, tinnitus and/or decreased sound tolerance.
  • A diagnostic hearing test done within the last six months.

Once we have received and reviewed your referral documents, we will get in touch. During the call, we will set up an appointment and arrange payment. You will be asked to complete online questionnaires before your appointment.

Appointments are available in person or via Zoom. Appointments are available on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Initial appointment (90 minutes): $180
  • Follow-up appointments (optional, 30-60 minutes): $120/hour

Once you book your appointment, the Audiology clerk will send you an invoice. You can pay it through the St. Paul’s Hospital Cashier’s desk (phone 604-682-2344, local 62636).

You must pay the invoice before your appointment.

The BC Medical Services Plan does not cover tinnitus management counselling. If you have an extended health plan, you may be able to submit a claim to your plan. Please check to see if your plan covers audiology services. We are not able to bill extended health plans directly.

If you have an eligible tinnitus claim through WorkSafeBC, there may be help available. Contact your claim manager to find out how they can help you manage your tinnitus.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

  • Your BC Services card
  • Any hearing aids or instruments that you use.

You are welcome to bring a family member or friend to your appointment.
