Adult Red Cell Disorders Program

After you leave

Typically, you need follow-up clinic visits, ranging from every 6month to 1 year, to review your treatment plan, check your progress, and make any necessary changes for the best results.

We encourage you to stay in touch with your team in between visits. Tell your team about any emergency room visits or hospital admissions, upcoming medical/surgical procedures and/or any urgent concerns related to your red blood cell disorder.

If you have a planned move within Canada or outside the country, notify your team at your earliest convenience so your care team can make arrangement for care transfer.

About phone calls

We understand that reaching us by phone can sometimes be difficult. Often our phone lines are busy or are turned over to the message centre so clinic staff can prepare for clinic visits or help other patients.

If you need to leave a voice message, please clearly state your name, your best reachable phone number and a detailed message. We make every effort to return your call within 24 hours. Our staff will try to reach you 2 times. If we are not able to reach you directly – and you do not have an answering machine for us to leave a message – you may need to call us again.

For any questions or concerns regarding your procedures at Medical Short Stay Unit, please contact the Medical Short Stay Unit directly at 604-682-2344, 62437. Learn more about the Medical Short Stay Unit.
