Safety During Your Stay
Your safety and comfort during your time here, is our top concern.
At Honoria Conway we provide a 24-hour response to personal emergencies and our staff is available 24 hours/day. Our system alerts staff to a tenant calling for help as well as the location of that tenant. When you move in to Honoria Conway you will be trained in how to use the emergency response system. As well, policies and procedures are in place to direct all aspects of life at Honoria Conway that may impact on tenant health and safety.
When you move in to a suite at Honoria Conway you will be given a brochure (Honoria Conway: Promoting Safety) which describes our role, your role and your families role in helping you to stay safe.
Preventing Falls
Preventing falls is important to maintain health and independence. Ways to help prevent falls include:
- Slow down and take your time.
- Do one task at a time.
- Look where you are going and don’t get distracted.
- Sit for a moment before getting out of bed.
- Get out of chairs slowly.
- Get your balance before you walk.
- Wear good, supportive shoes with slip resistant soles.
