Virtual Interpreter

Interpretation services are available to improve communication with Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard of Hearing or Limited English Proficiency patients. Providence Health Care collaborates with Provincial Language Service (PLS) to provide access to high-quality remote Sign and Spoken Language interpretation services 24 hours a day. It is our priority to make virtual health more accessible for our patients. The following interpretation services are available:

  • In-Person Interpretation
  • Telephone Interpretation
  • Virtual Visits Interpretation (Remote interpretation over Zoom)
  • American Sign Language Interpretation
    • Both in-person and remote options are available, however in-person is recommended
  • British Sign Language Interpretation
    • Remote option only
  • Virtual Remote Interpretation (VRI)
    • VRI enables on-demand audio or video interpretation on mobile devices
