Heba Al-Nashef is a highly experienced and compassionate Registered Midwife, serving as the Assistant Head of Midwifery at St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH) and the Associate Regional Department Head of Midwifery for Vancouver Coastal Health.
Heba trained in Jordan in 2008 and obtained a master’s of midwifery from Nottingham, UK 2011. Soon after graduating, she pursued a midwifery career in the great white north. She finished the Ryerson bridging program in 2013 and immediately started working at the beautiful birth centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Heba’s love for the mountains, ocean and family led her to Vancouver in 2016. She is an immigrant and settler in the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Musqueam (Mus-kwee-um), Squamish (Skwa-mish) and Tsleil-Waututh (Slay-Wah- tuth) Nations.
Heba joined the Maternity Family practice in 2023 due to her passion for working in a collaborative team. In her work, she is committed to premium-quality, client-centred care. Heba recently returned from a humanitarian medical mission in Gaza. She is thrilled to meet clients and provide care for them and their families.
When she is not catching babies, Heba enjoys cooking Arab Levant foods, reading, spending quality time with family and training in mixed martial arts, including Brazilian JiuJutsu.
