Deborah Mitchell serves as the Chief Strategy Officer & Vice President, Governance at Providence. Deborah joined the Providence Health Care Senior Leadership Team in 2012 as Director of Executive Services and progressed to roles as Corporate Director, Strategic Initiatives & Special projects, Office of the CEO as well as Vice President, Seniors Care, Organizational Strategy & Partnerships.
In her role as Chief Strategy Officer Deborah leads Providence’s Office of Strategy and Results, which has the mandate to develop, monitor, and deliver PHC’s strategic plan and priority projects. Deborah’s Strategy and Governance portfolio also includes Organizational Development, which has the mandate for leadership development, team effectiveness and coaching. Additionally, as Vice-President, Governance, Deborah provides senior leadership and oversight to governance processes for PHC’s Board of Directors and related entities. Deborah has over 25 years of progressive leadership experience with a variety of health care organizations in the public and private sectors. She holds an Executive MBA from the Beedie School of Business and a BSc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.
