Media interviews & escort

Please follow any public-health rules that may be in place at our sites. For instance, familiarize yourself with the latest policies around mask wearing.

The policies below protect patient, resident and employee confidentiality. They are set out under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act:

  • All media calls must go through the Communications & Public Affairs Department or the Leader, Media & Government Relations. Interviews can take place only once requests are cleared through these channels.
  • All media visiting Providence sites must be escorted in and out of the facility by a Communications & Public Affairs team member (or designate).
  • Communications & Public Affairs must receive written consent from patients before they are interviewed, filmed, videotaped, or photographed. Documentary film producers must submit a written synopsis about their project to Communications & Public Affairs. If consent to film is given, a written agreement must first be signed.
