At the heart of our mission lies a unique partnership model and a devoted fundraising arm, St. Paul's Foundation. Thanks to our generous donors, St. Paul's Foundation supports patients, residents, caregivers, and families at St. Paul’s Hospital, other Providence Health Care facilities, and Providence Living's long-term care homes.
Established in 2017 as a faith-based non-profit healthcare organization, Providence Living aims to redefine our collective expectations of seniors' care in British Columbia. With a deep desire to transform the care experience, Providence Living replaces care homes with genuine communities, providing services on the unceded traditional lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and K’omoks nations.
Affiliated with the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, Providence Research is committed to pursuing real-life health solutions that directly impact the well-being of our patients. Our continuous learning organization integrates research, education, and care to create a robust learning environment and improve patient care. Our research centres include:
- BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS
  Based at St. Paul’s Hospital, BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is Canada’s largest HIV/AIDS research and treatment facility. The rapid incorporation of research results into clinical practice ensures that HIV/AIDS patients receive a continually evolving standard of evidence-based care.
- BC Centre on Substance Use
  The BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) is a provincially networked organization with a mandate to develop, help implement, and evaluate evidence-based approaches to substance use and addiction.
- Centre for Heart Lung Innovation at UBC and St. Paul's Hospital
  The Centre for Heart Lung Innovation is a UBC Senate-approved centre unique to British Columbia, and is home to over 250 personnel working towards solving the problems of heart, lung and blood vessel diseases.
- Advancing Health
  Bridging the gap between data, research, and care, Advancing Health is a collaboration between cross-disciplinary scientists and expert research staff evaluating the effectiveness of health interventions at the population level.
Born at St. Paul’s Hospital as the Inner City Youth Mental Health Team, Foundry is now a province-wide network of integrated health and wellness services for young people ages 12-24 that include mental health care, substance use services, physical and sexual health care, youth and family peer supports, and social services. Young people can access services by walking into one of our 16 local Foundry centres, exploring our online tools and resources at foundrybc.ca, or connecting virtually through the free Foundry BC app.

PHC Ventures offers health system expertise, access to the Providence Health Care ecosystem, and the capacity to navigate the health care landscape. In collaboration with like-minded stakeholders, PHC Ventures brings leading-edge, complex healthcare solutions to the market for the benefit of all.
