Clinical Support & Research Centre

The Clinical Support and Research Centre will be a cutting-edge life sciences hub built next to the new St. Paul’s Hospital.

Hub for health care discovery, research and innovation

Providence Health Care is building a new state-of-the-art research, technology and medical complex, known for now as the Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC). The CSRC will be built beside the new St. Paul’s Hospital on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus.

Just steps away from BC’s most technologically-advanced hospital, the CSRC will be 12-storeys and 34,400 square metres (370,000 square feet) in size. It will have a direct sky-bridge connection into St. Paul’s Hospital, which is under construction.

The CSRC will be centered around an Innovation Centre, a floor dedicated to collaboration, invention and dynamic events. The CSRC will include:

  • Specialty medical services, physician workspace and exam room space.
  • Extensive research facilities, state-of-the-art wet labs, dry labs and biobanks.
  • Corporate services space.
  • 49-space childcare centre.

This innovation hub will bring together patients, physicians, researchers and academic partners. Together, we will create sustainable solutions to global health and well-being challenges. The CSRC will also include infrastructure for emerging technology such as 3D bio-printing, research data and analytics. The CSRC will add value to B.C.’s life sciences community by attracting leading care providers, scientists and industry partners to deliver excellence in care, research and innovation.
