Respiratory Education Centre

The respiratory therapist/educator will perform pulmonary function testing. They will educate you about the disease and progression. They will also teach you how to prevent episodes of shortness of breath and suggest additional resources.

At the Respiratory Education Centre you will learn:

• What asthma/COPD is
• Your asthma/COPD triggers and how to avoid and manage them
• How to evaluate control strategies of your asthma/COPD
• To effectively take your medication
• To manage your asthma/COPD with an asthma/COPD action plan

Respiratory Therapists/Educators:

• Perform various tests
• Teach patients about their medication, including what it's used for and how to use it effectively
• Educate patients on how to avoid triggers that aggravate lung disorders
• Make recommendations to make patient's lung conditions more manageable
