First, check in with the registration clerk, who will give you directions to your clinic area. If you haven’t told us in advance, please let the clerk know if you need interpretation services.

What to expect

Appointments are usually booked for 15 minutes, but most often, the appointment lasts about 30-45 minutes for assessment, treatment, wound care and any other diagnostics or consultations that may take place. In some cases, you could be at the clinic for up to 2 hours, depending on the assessment and care required.

You may get diagnostics such as X-rays, wound or other care. You may be referred to an orthopedics technician if you need certain footwear recommendations. 

If you need a local anesthetic for a minor procedure, your doctor will let you know beforehand. 

If you need a more extensive procedure, you'll be scheduled for another time.

Before you leave

• Make sure you know if there are any next steps following your appointment. Do you have any tests or procedures booked? 
• Make sure you know if you need a follow-up appointment. If you do, did you book one or have a plan to book it?
